How to save an AI answer as a PDF

  1. Copy the answer with its copy button. In ChatGPT and Claude, click the copy icon under the response. That copies it as Markdown, with all the formatting. Selecting the text with your mouse and copying usually loses the headings and tables.
  2. Paste it into the editor above. Replace the example; the preview updates as you type. Add a # Title line at the top if you like: it becomes the heading and the file name.
  3. Click Download PDF and choose Save as PDF in the print dialog.

Why not just print the chat?

Printing the chat page straight from your browser gives you the sidebar, the message box and the buttons along with the answer. Long code lines get cut off, and tables often split badly across pages. md2pdf.me gives you just the answer, typeset like a proper document: real margins, page numbers in the Classic style, code that wraps, and headings that never get stranded at the bottom of a page.

What carries over

Frequently asked questions

Is my conversation sent anywhere?

No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser; nothing you paste is uploaded. Your text is kept only in your browser's local storage so it survives a reload. Click Clear to remove it.

Does it work with Gemini, Copilot and other assistants?

Yes. Almost every AI assistant writes its answers in Markdown. If the text you paste has no #, ** or | symbols, it was copied without formatting: use the assistant's own copy button instead of selecting the text.

Can I save a whole conversation?

Copy each answer you want to keep and paste them one after another. To start each answer on a new page, put <div class="page-break"></div> on its own line between them.

The math shows up as code. What happened?

Formulas need their delimiters, such as \[ and \], to be recognized. If your copy dropped the backslashes, copy the answer again with the assistant's copy button.
